OXXRing publishes sizing, material, application, and purchasing information to help buyers narrow down an O-ring choice before ordering. This page explains how that information is prepared and where its limits apply.

Information sources we use

  • Structured product data: product dimensions, material, hardness, pack quantity, price, availability, and routing information stored in OXXRing's Shopify catalog.
  • Recognized dimensional standards: applicable references such as AS568 and ISO 3601 are used to organize and cross-check nominal size information where a product has been mapped to that standard.
  • Material documentation: supplier or compound-manufacturer technical data, compatibility information, and product-specific documentation when available.
  • Customer-provided information: drawings, samples, photos, measured dimensions, operating media, temperature, pressure, motion, quantity, and other application details submitted for review or quotation.
  • Observed buying questions: recurring measurement, material, quantity, and replacement questions are used to improve guides and purchasing paths.

General guidance versus product-specific proof

Material guides and compatibility charts are screening tools. A general statement about NBR, FKM, EPDM, silicone, FFKM, or another elastomer does not prove that every compound or every OXXRing product has identical performance.

Temperature limits, chemical resistance, food-contact suitability, regulatory status, tolerances, and service life can vary by compound, formulation, supplier, part geometry, and operating conditions. Product-specific certification or documentation should only be treated as confirmed when it is supplied for the exact item being considered.

How size information is presented

O-rings are normally identified by inner diameter (ID) and cross section (CS). Approximate outer diameter can be calculated as OD = ID + 2 × CS. Published dimensions are nominal unless a product page or supplied document states a specific tolerance.

Start with the O-Ring Size Guide or measurement guide. A worn, swollen, flattened, stretched, or damaged seal may no longer match its original dimensions.

How material information should be used

Use the Material Guide and Chemical Compatibility page to narrow down possible materials. Final selection should also consider the exact medium and concentration, minimum and maximum temperature, pressure, static or dynamic motion, groove design, exposure time, cleaning process, and required documentation.

Review and correction policy

OXXRing updates technical and purchasing content when product data changes, a guide needs clarification, or a material or application statement requires correction. Pages should distinguish verified product facts from general industry guidance and should avoid claiming equipment compatibility, certification, or universal performance without supporting documentation.
